Hopper and bunker weighers as alternatives for weighbridges
The hopper weigher has proven to be an interesting alternative for the weighbridge for the control on weight of bulk goods to be unloaded and loaded. When it comes to the loading of bulk trucks, a bunker scale (or silo weigher) can also be considered instead of a weighbridge

How to suppress dynamic effects
Food one wants to buy as fresh as possible. Not just because of a better taste, but also because of the shelf life and the reduced chance of spoil. When a product is processed immediately after harvesting or catch that also means profit. So when actions such as grading by size or on weight and packaging occur directly on the harvester or on board of a ship, this shortens the way to the store and the consumer buys a fresher product.

From raw material to product
It does not work without weight - no other physical quantity is so crucial for the successful
production of and trade in goods and so for the entire processing industry with all its economic consequences.

Measuring control valves
The message was clear: "provide ports in the body of the control valve with which the pressure before and after the valve be measured". This because the pressure difference before and after the valve is an indication of the material flow through the pipe.

Processing and weighing fruits and vegetables
Fast, Reliable and Hygienic
Those who want to remain frontrunners have to be innovative. That’s the principle of Heemskerk fresh & easy. Efficient, hygienic processing combined with new, smart packaging techniques guarantee the freshness and quality of dressed vegetables, salads and cut fruit.

We do Fish!
For the food processing industry checking and regulating of weight is essential, from raw material to finished product. PENKO Engineering explains in its own words to 'develop, create and provide technical support of particularly reliable weighing instruments and controls, operating with high speed, high internal resolution and high accuracy.

Weighing fish precisely in bulk on a seagoing ship
Processing fish on a large trawler, constantly vibrating and moving with the waves, is quite a challenge. Nevertheless, the weighing of fish on a sailing ship is possible. The accuracy with which bulk quantities of fish are now weighed in batches on the Navigator is an absolute novelty.

Weighing in the food industry
Always the right quantities
Natural resources continue to pose a challenge for the food industry, because natural also means that composition varies, which makes preparing a consistent product difficult. Checking and adjusting all weights is essential in this process, from the raw material to the final product. The proper tools are indispensable for this.

DataReporter
PENKO makes data accessible
Everything revolves around data, and more so every day. Instead of hardware, the emphasis now lies on software; especially the accessibility of data. DataReporter, a package by PENKO that serves to make data accessible, is a good example. Whereby it goes way beyond weighing and dosing.

Eliminating Strenuous Pushing and Pulling for Ambulance Workers
First responders and emergency workers are expected to be on call seven days a week, 24 hours a day, ready to help immediately and quickly. Improved work conditions make it easier to do that, but lifting patients on stretchers in and out of ambulances can be very difficult.

Control of total flow of goods
Tracking and tracing is an issue that is topical for many years in many segments of the processing industry. The ongoing product liability is forcing manufacturers to link their production processes to their administrative processes.

Speed of weighing systems increased substantially
An electric toy train model at the premises of PENKO Engineering B.V., a manufacturer of weighing equipment, illustrates the principle. The locomotive runs over a load cell upon which a display presents different colors, indicating whether the train is to light. If this is the case, the train automatically is fly shunted. This principle also applies to automated food packaging, only much faster. The weighing system performs up to 1600 measurements per second.
