PENKO Engineering B.V. has developed
a range of solutions and products to control the accurate filling of containers
of all types.
The unique PENKO way of measuring, high speed with a high
resolution immediately detects changes in weight. This eliminates a previous contradiction,
so in spite of high production speeds, a high filling accuracy is maintained.
This prevents undesired overfilling, thus saving you money! Filling controllers are designed to
ensure that the exact content per package is dispatched based on weight. The
filling process is usually found at the end of a production process in any
given process flow.
Legal requirements are obligatory for trading
purposes. The worldwide O.I.ML. (International Organization for Legal
Metrology) recommendation R61 outlines these rules while the MID (Measurements
Instruments Directive) is Europe specific.
There are two types of weight fillers:
- “Net
filler” : the mass is dosed outside of the package prior to being dumped into an
empty package.
- “Gross-filler”:
the mass is dosed directly into the
package.
In connection with various weighing methods and
dosing mechanisms, the course weighing process requires a distinction between
solid and liquid fillers.
We also differentiate between non-automatic and
automatic filing processes. The difference is that during the non-automatic
process, an operator decides whether or not a package has the correct amount of
content, whereas during the automatic this decision is taken by the machine.
A third variation involves the e-mark ruling
applicable to packages ≤ 10kg and packages over 10kg that require filling at a
minimum weight.
E-mark Regulation
Filling data can be sent directly from a certified
system to an e-mark registry. No check weighing is needed in this
process.
